Aussie actors cast in Netflix series Hemlock Grove

Two Australian actresses have joined the cast of Netflix's supernatural series Hemlock Grove.

Penelope Mitchell (Rush, Offspring) and Freya Tingley (X, Cloudstreet) will join Famke Janssen and Bill Skarsgard in the 13-part series, which is executive produced by Eli Roth.

Hemlock Grove centres around the murder of a young girl whose body is found close to a former steel mill.

Rather than following the traditional television delivery method of releasing an episode each week, Netflix will make the entire series downloadable on debut.

Mitchell is represented by JM Agency and Tingley is represented by Smith & Jones Management.

Netflix should be applauded for exploring this form of direct distribution in this manner.

Whatever the business model, those companies who participate in the disrupting of the established distribution model now will become the masters in the new digital age.

That said, this is just the beginning of the story.
