Mad Bastards trailer

Mad Bastards  – featuring legendary Broome musicians, The Pigram Brothers, with Alex Lloyd – will have it world premiere at the Sydney Festival on January 18.

The film has also been accepted into the Sundance Film Festival's World Cinema Dramatic competition – the same category which Australia’s Animal Kingdom won in 2010.

Mad Bastards was written and directed by Brendan Fletcher and filmed on location in Western Australia's Kimberley region.

In the frontier town of Five Rivers, TJ the urban street warrior meets his match in Texas, a former Mad Bastard turned local cop. He also finds Bullet, his estranged son, and his personal transformation begins. Mad Bastards is a bold movie about tough men trying to do the right thing by their families.

The film will be distributed by Transmission Films in May 2011.
