FremantleMedia Australia has promoted Jonathan Summerhayes to Director of Programming, replacing Tim Clucas who resigned in December after four years in the post.

A seven year FMA veteran, Summerhayes was the executive producer of The X Factor and before that EP of The Biggest Loser and co-EP of MasterChef.

Overseeing the creative and production processes for all of FremantleMedia Australia’s entertainment and factual programming, he reports to Ian Hogg, CEO of FMA and Asia Pacific.

Concurrently, Beth Hart has joined FMA as Director of Television Content, reporting to Summerhayes. For the past three years she had been senior Executive Producer of the UK’s The X Factor and Deputy Head of Entertainment with Thames / SyCo Productions.

At FMA, Hart will focus on new and existing entertainment brands including Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Grand Designs, Recipe to Riches and The Apprentice.

Hogg said: “Both Jonathon and Beth are outstanding creatives and have unparalleled peer recognition. Their appointments signal an important step change in our creative credentials and I am confident that both will bring fresh thinking and ideas and a new energy to the business."

Hart succeeds Cathie Scott, who was promoted to Director of International Productions late last year to take charge of FMA’s new partnership with BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand to produce BBC general entertainment formats for Australia.
