ABC iview schedules a hot date

The Daters, ABC iview's first multiplatform documentary series has begun filming in Adelaide.

Produced by ABC Factual TV, The Daters (25 x 10min) follows three women and three men who have one thing in common, they are all single and looking for love.

Together the singles have made a pact to commit three months to actively search for love using every form of dating possible. It's real life, caught on camera as it happens.

Each week two episodes will be uploaded to iview along with additional content posted onto The Daters social media accounts.

Phil Craig, Head of Factual TV, said: "We're excited to be involved with such an ambitious new multiplatform documentary project. The ABC's highly creative Adelaide production unit will bring the reality of 21st century dating to the screen, the smart phone and the tablet in a fascinating and entertaining style, unrestrained by the needs of a traditional schedule or platform, posting new installments as and when they arise…date by date."

Rebecca Heap, Head of TV Strategy and Digital Products, said:"The Daters is an innovative new format designed for on-demand viewing. It is an ideal use of iview as a test bed for new ideas and modes of storytelling and, with episodes posted to iview almost as soon as they are filmed, will put viewers at the heart of the dating action."

The Daters is set to premiere on iview in mid June. The executive producer is Margot Phillipson, working with senior producer Colin Haynes and producer/director Lauren Hillman.
