ABC sets date for Redfern Now: The Telemovie

The multi award-winning and highly celebrated drama is back with a powerful one-off telemovie screening on ABC TV on Thursday April 9 at 8.30 pm.

In Redfern Now: The Telemovie, three Aboriginal girls fail to hail down a taxi after a night on the town and are forced to walk home.

After parting with her friends, Robyn Davis (Rarriwuy Hick) decides to take a shortcut and is attacked and sexually assaulted. Initially she tries to hide it from her father, Aaron Davis (Wayne Blair), but reluctantly agrees to tell him what’s troubling her after swearing him to secrecy.

A father first, and a policeman second, he goes against his better judgment and agrees to keep her secret, not realising the consequences of his decision.

The telemovie stars Deborah Mailman, Wayne Blair, Rarriwuy Hick, Lisa Flanagan and Anthony Hayes, directed by Rachel Perkins and  scripted by Steven McGregor.
