ABC TV website gets makeover

Press release from ABC TV

ABC TV has relaunched its online site with a new design that aims to make it easier for audiences to find great content from each of its five channels – ABC1, ABC2, ABC3, ABC News 24 and ABC iView.

The new site highlights ABC TV’s extensive array of programs available to view online with a new WATCH NOW section. This brings together all the video content – available on iView, individual program sites and downloads – making it a one-stop shop for people looking to watch television content online.

The improved Electronic Program Guide (EPG) showcases all four ABC TV channels with direct links from individual programs to websites and to iView screenings. It also allows people to filter the EPG by genre to search for a particular type of program.

Community elements feature in the new site, with a section dedicated to showcasing ABC TV’s presence in external sites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube; as well as links to the many mobile apps and widgets for ABC TV content and programs.

Head of Multiplatform, Arul Baskaran says the new site builds upon ABC TV’s strengths as a multi-platform broadcaster. “With so much content available, it’s hard enough to know what to watch on a single channel, let alone on four, plus our comprehensive catch up service ABC iView. We hope our new site will help audiences by highlighting the best content available, offering channels to see what our audience themselves are recommending to each other and also making it easier to find that content online.”
