ABC3 introduces two new hosts

Press release from ABC

The fun has begun for Alfie Gledhill and Olivia Phyland, the two whizz-bang new hosts joining ABC3’s daily show Studio 3.

Unearthed during the ‘Me on 3’ nation-wide search, Alfie and Olivia stood out from thousands of entries received. The pair will feature in their first ABC3 program, Australia Day Tennis Smackdown on January 26, before becoming Studio 3 regulars from Monday January 30.

Alfie Gledhill, originally from Townsville, loves to sing, dance, surf and play soccer, and if he hadn’t been chosen for this hosting role he would be out exploring the Bermuda Triangle.

“I’m a chilled-out guy who loves to muck around, create new words and I’m always looking to share my positive outlook on life with anyone I can!” said Alfie.

Originally from Wagga Wagga, Olivia Phyland loves singing, dancing, reading cookbooks and has a massive dress-up collection which she’s excited to share with everyone.

Olivia said “I’m energetic, quirky and a little crazy at times, which is how I see Studio 3. It’s the perfect job for me and you’ll see that I’m not afraid to make a goof of myself.”

ABC TV’s Children’s Head of Commissioning and Development, Carla de Jong, said: “It was Olivia’s fabulous fun sense of humour and Alfie’s wonderful warm and cheeky personality, which really made them stand out from the many talented people who auditioned from all over the country. Both are also extremely gifted musicians and we are thrilled to have them joining the Studio 3 team”.

Studio 3 airs daily at 7am and covers celebrity interviews, games, viewer interaction and much, much more!
