ABC3’s Stay Tuned set for production

Press Release from ABC

Joel Phillips and Nicole Singh are set to join ABC3’s music show Stay Tuned when production starts this week in Sydney on 30 x 15 minute episodes.

Joel Phillips is best known for his role on Home and Away as Jules Munro. Originally from Lismore he joins Stay Tuned with 15 years of experience in singing and playing the guitar.

Nicole Singh has been singing and dancing for 14 years in Sydney. After completing the McDonald College Performing Arts full-time course she went on to become a professional ballet dancer until a hip injury forced her to slow down and leave the ballet world.

Produced by The Feds in Sydney, Stay Tuned is a dynamic music show offering an insight into the music industry. The show is based on online audience interaction where viewers send in video questions for Nicole and Joel prior to their interviews with music stars. For example they may ask Ke$ha how she writes a song; ask Mark Ronson how he puts a band together; or have Usher’s back-up dancers demonstrate the ultimate dance move.

Stay Tuned Executive Producer Lisa Gray said “We wanted to take a different approach and create a music show that was driven by the viewers. Joel and Nicole’s enthusiasm and energy are going to make Stay Tuned a fun, unique experience for the ABC3 audience.”

ABC TV’s Children’s Head of Commissioning and Development Carla De Jong said “ABC3 has been waiting for a music show like Stay Tuned to connect our audience and the music industry. We are thrilled the online component will be play such a huge part in the show.”
