ADG awards to be broadcast for the first time ever

Last month's Australian Directors Guild awards are set to be broadcast for the first time in the ceremony's history.

The awards will be broadcast on Foxtel's Aurora Channel on May 29 – this Sunday – at 8pm, with three further broadcasts to follow.

“Aurora is honoured to partner with the ADG to broadcast these prestigious awards", Aurora CEO Phyllisse Stanton said.

"Often overlooked, directors are the heart and soul of a production. This is an opportunity to showcase their work and celebrate some of Australia's brightest behind-the-scenes stars.”

“This is a great development for the ADG Awards”, said ADG CEO Kingston Anderson.

“The aim of the awards is to highlight the talent of so many of our directors across all genres and the broadcast on Aurora will give our members, the screen industry and the general public a glimpse into the key creators of screen content, directors. It is historic."

Victorian Chapter Head Mark Poole directed and produced the broadcast for the ADG.

Highlights will be posted to the ADG's online magazine Screen Director after the first broadcast on May 29.
