ADG Awards unveils nominees

Nominees for the 2010 Australian Directors Guild Awards have been announced, with the winners to be named at an awards dinner in Sydney on September 23.

Directors Jeremy Sims (Beneath Hill 60), Rachel Perkins (Bran Nue Dae), David Michôd (Animal Kingdom), Claire McCarthy (The Waiting City) and Robert Connolly (Balibo) have been nominated in the category of best feature film.

The Australian Directors Guild Awards celebrate the creative achievement of directors in film, television and new media platforms. Altogether, there are 64 nominations in 18 categories.

New categories introduced this year include documentary features, children’s TV and TV reality/light entertainment. There are also two new digital categories for cross platform interactive and original online programs.

The Australian Directors Guild Awards are peer-judged.

Winners will be announced at the Australian Directors Guild 2010 Awards dinner at the Star City Astral Room in Sydney on Thursday September 23. To book and for the full list of nominees, visit the ADG website at www.adg.org.au
