Australian film, Blame, to screen in Argentina

Press release from NRC Communications

On Friday (11 March 2011) the Buenos Aires International Film Festival of Independent Cinema (BAFICI) – the most prestigious celebration of independent cinema in Latin America – announced that the Western Australian made feature film BLAME will screen in official selection at this year’s festival (6-17 April).

Producer Michael Robinson who will attend the festival, introduce the film’s screenings and participate in audience Q&A sessions said: “BLAME has been extremely well received by festival audiences here at home and in the US and Canada so we are now very excited to have the opportunity to share the film with a Latin American audience. The festival sold over 200,000 tickets last year so it is a huge event, a wonderful celebration of film and I am really looking forward to BLAME being a part of it”.

A psychological drama that interrogates the consequences of lies and ill-considered actions when a group of young friends set out to commit the perfect murder, BLAME screened to considerable acclaim at the Melbourne, Toronto and Chicago International Film Festivals last year, and more recently (last month) at the Victoria Film Festival in British Columbia, Canada.

Written and directed by Michael Henry and produced by Ryan Hodgson, Melissa Kelly and Michael Robinson BLAME is a 3monkeyfilms and Factor 30 Films production financed by ScreenWest, the Melbourne international Film Festival Premiere Fund, Screen Australia and Private Investment. Peter Castaldi’s Packscreen will release the film domestically in June and London based High Point Films is handling international sales.
