Burleigh film to open in Perth

Press release from Burleigh Smith:

Perth filmmaker Burleigh Smith will open the Perth International Arts Festival’s LotteryWest Films on November 30 with his romantic comedy, "Love Like You’ve Never Been Hurt".

The fifteen-minute film tells the story of problem gamblers who orchestrate a romance between two broken hearts so that they can bet on the outcome.

Smith, who wrote and directed, plays Edward, an unhappy accountant who is introduced to an equally-troubled Edwina, played by Taryn Leggett.  The film was shot by Richard Malins A.C.S. and produced by Mat de Koning.

It screens with the French comedy "Please Please Me!" at the Somerville Auditorium, UWA, from November 30 to December 6, at 8pm.

The Perth International Arts Festival is the oldest international arts festival in Australia.
