Cameras roll on horror ‘Living Space’

Andy McPhee stars as an SS officer in 'Living Space'.

Principal photography is set to get underway in Geelong next week on Tru Dot Film’s horror Living Space, with the shoot expected to continue until mid- December.

The film is the feature debut of writer-director Steven Spiel, who previously directed short Never Forgiven, and will be produced by Tru Dot’s Natalie Forward (Haunted or Hoax).

The cast includes Georgia Chara (Wentworth, Home & Away) Leigh Scully (Home & Away, Catching Milat), Andy McPhee (Saving Mr Banks, Sons of Anarchy, Wolf Creek) Jolene Anderson (All Saints, Rush) and Emma Leonard (800 Words, Home & Away).

Scully and Chara play college sweethearts whose romantic holiday to Germany takes a sinister turn after they encounter SS Officer (McPhee) and his family (Anderson and Leonard), thrusting them into a “psychological vortex of horror”.

Living Space's crew includes cinematographer Branco Grabovac (Witches), special effects artist Steven Boyle (The Hobbit, Star Wars, Daybreakers, The Matrix), production designer Das Patterson (The Dressmaker, The Legend of Ben Hall) and costume designer Chloe Greaves (Cop Hard).

“I am really thrilled to have such an amazing, world-class team around me, and to have received such positive responses to my script,” said Spiel.

“I have also handpicked an extremely talented cast and deliberately placed them into roles far removed from what they’re used to, and what their fans have come to expect from them.”

Executive Producers are Spiel, Forward, Andrea Buck, Kate Elizabeth Jean and Darren Vukasinovic. The film has been privately funded.
