Cinematography awards coming soon

Cinematographers from New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory are gearing up for their annual State Awards for Cinematography.

These are the peak awards that celebrate the art of moving image photography in NSW/ACT and this year's gala event at the Menzies Hotel, Sydney on Saturday 20th November is hosted by MC James Kerley.

The ceremony will see the presentation of awards in eighteen categories from student cinematography to news and current affairs as well as feature films and documentaries.

2010 NSW/ACT Awards for Cinematography has received a record-breaking number of entries with nearly 300 entries to be viewed by the ACS judging panel over 4 days commencing this weekend.

The 2010 Awards night will be one to remember and a definitive part of your November must attend list, as this year’s guest of honour is the multi-talented Australian director, writer and cinematographer and member of the Northern Territory branch of the ACS, Warwick Thorton.

His debut feature film, Samson and Delilah won the Caméra d'Or at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
