Crowdfunding campaign for short starring Radha Mitchell

A short film starring US based Australian actress Radha Mitchell (Finding Neverland, Silent Hill), French/American actor Jean-Marc Barr (The Big Blue, Nymphomaniac) and iconic Francophile English actress/singer Jane Birkin (Blow-Up, La Belle Noiseuse) is seeking post-production funds via the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.

Shot in Sydney in January, Whoever Was Using This Bed is described as 'a provocative film about love'. Written and directed by Andrew Kotatko from a story by Raymond Carver (Short Cuts, Birdman), the film’s production team includes DOP Geoffrey Simpson (Shine), production designer Alex Holmes (The Babadook) and costume designer Emily Seresin (Top of the Lake).

Kotatko’s previous short film, the IF Award winning Everything Goes with Hugo Weaving, Abbie Cornish and Sullivan Stapleton, premiered at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and travelled to 55 festivals over two years.

'Whoever Was Using This Bed has been a true labour of love. It’s taken years to find the money to make the film I wanted to make – and with the incredible cast and crew I wanted to make it with. We were incredibly fortunate to have the generous support of Altaire Productions to help get the film shot,' Kotatko said.

The Kickstarter campaign funds will pay for the film’s entire post path, which has already had industry support from facilities such as The Gingerbread Man, Spectrum Films and StageOne Sound.

The post-production team includes award winning editor Roland Gallois (Samson and Delilah), sound designers Robert Mackenzie (The Grandmaster) and Sam Petty (Animal Kingdom), and acclaimed composer Ben Frost (Sleeping Beauty).
