Dafydd Williams Returns To Network Ten

Network Ten today announced the appointment of Dafydd Williams to the new role of Head of Development, reporting to Chief Programming Officer Beverley McGarvey.

Ms McGarvey said: “Dafydd is one of the best-connected and most experienced producers in the Australian television industry. His appointment is part of the strategy to build our management talent across all departments of Network Ten.

“We are very excited to be welcoming Dafydd back to Ten. The development of new shows is, of course, a key area for us and Dafydd’s skills and experience will be a great addition to our local programming and production team.”

Mr Williams worked at Network Ten from 2006 to early 2012, initially as Network Executive Producer and then Head of Factual Programming.

In the latter role, he was responsible for successful franchises such as The Biggest Loser Australia, MasterChef Australia, Bondi Rescue, Bondi Vet, Recruits and The Living Room.

Mr Williams said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Network Ten and it will be a pleasure to be reunited with the talented team of friends and colleagues.”

Before Network Ten, Mr Williams was an Executive Producer at Southern Star Entertainment and Beyond Productions. He also worked in the UK broadcasting industry for 12 years, including roles at the BBC, ITV and S4C, The Welsh Fourth Channel.

Mr Williams’ credits in the Australian production sector also include Big Brother and Ready Steady Cook for Network Ten; Hot Property, Hot Auctions and Better Homes and Gardens for Seven Network; Money for Nine Network; Beyond 2000 for The Discovery Channel; Megastructures for National Geographic; and Science Frontiers for The Learning Channel.

Mr Williams will join Network Ten on January 31, 2014.
