Damned by Dawn is the first feature film from Australian director, Brett Anstey, and pays homage to classic Hammer Horror.
After receiving a mysterious gift from her dying grandmother, Claire takes her new boyfriend home to meet her family who live on an isolated property in the country. The family reunion begins well but Claire becomes increasingly uneasy with her grandmother's medicated mumblings about the banshee coming for her during the night. Later that night, the family is awoken by piercing shrieks and Claire's worst fears become a waking nightmare as the Screaming Banshee and her army of undead return to unleash blood soaked fury on them all.
Australian-based sales and production company Odin's Eye Entertainment recently sold the North American distribution rights to Damned by Dawn to independent home entertainment distributor Image Entertainment.
The film has previously been sold to the UK/Canada (Alliance Films), Middle East (ECS), Indonesia (Ram Indo) and Hong Kong (Edko). A new and improved version of the film will make its premiere at Sitges' MIDNIGHT X-TREME Competition section.
The film is also an official selection at Fright Fest, A Night of Horror International Film Festival and was also shown at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival.
