Dendy Direct launched on Chromecast

Dendy Direct's video-on-demand content is now available to stream to Google Chromecast devices through the Dendy Direct iOS and Android mobile applications as well as Google Chrome on PC and Mac.

Google Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on TVs. Viewers can simply use an Android phone, tablet, iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows PC to cast Dendy Direct’s selection of new release movies, fresh TV and quality library content directly to their television.

Additionally, both Dendy Direct iOS and Android apps have been updated to allow for offline playback. Dendy Direct customers can now enjoy any movie and TV content they own even when they are out of reach of Wi-Fi.

Dendy Direct is also available to download on selected Samsung smart TVs. Customers can browse the store, transact and playback content straight from their compatible Samsung smart TV without the need for any other devices.

Dendy CEO Greg Hughes said, "On demand viewing habits continue to evolve, as does competition with services like Netflix entering the Australian market. Dendy is committed to meeting our customers’ needs and offering them an unparalleled experience; providing great content wherever and whenever they want to see it, across a wide range of platforms and devices, online and offline. As the first cinema chain in the Southern Hemisphere to launch a video-on-demand service, we’re very excited to be partnered with excellent brands such as Google Chromecast and Samsung.”

Dendy Head of Digital Suzanne Moody said,  “Now that we have the service available across all these platforms and devices, Dendy Direct will be commencing a program of very aggressive campaigns to build our profile in the market and drive customer acquisitions. The first of these has been launched; our ‘Dendy TV’ proposition is that every first episode is available to buy from 99c – every season, every series, every day."
