‘Doc Martin’ creator Dominic Minghella to deliver keynote at Screen Forever
UK showrunner and writer Dominic Minghella will deliver a keynote speech at Screen Producers Australia’s Screen Forever conference in Melbourne.
The co-founder of Island Pictures, he created Doc Martin, which is now in its ninth season, and he was the writer, producer and showrunner of BBC/Tiger Aspect’s Robin Hood.
Currently he is the showrunner on A&E Studios and History Channel’s historical drama Knightfall, now in its second season, which airs here on SBS and is among the most watched series on SBS on Demand.
He produced Charles Sturridge’s 2012 adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s The Scapegoat, which starred Matthew Rhys, Eileen Atkins and Anton Lesser, and is developing a raft of film and TV projects.
“His career as a writer, showrunner and creative producer is testament to his innate vision for developing iconic narratives and characters that not only resonate locally but also globally,” says SPA CEO Matt Deaner. “It is a rare gift and a rich commodity for the modern producer, an area that we will be exploring deeply at Screen Forever.”
Screen Forever will run from November 20-22 at the Crown Conference Centre.
