Feedback wanted on Victorian Screen Industry review

[release from Film Victoria]

In October 2007, the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development commissioned an independent review of the Victorian Screen Industry, the first step in development a new major strategy to continue growing Victoria’s screen industry.

The terms of reference for the Review included:

*identifying the major issues and opportunities facing the global and local screen industry
*documenting and reviewing the current state of the Victorian screen industry
*articulating a proposed vision for the future of the Victorian screen industry which has the support of key stakeholders.

The Review has now been completed and the final report is on the Department’s website. http://www.diird.vic.gov.au/CORPLIVE/STANDARD/PC_65362.html

The review will be used to develop a new Victorian Screen Industry Strategy over the coming months.

The Department is now looking for stakeholder feedback on the Report to ensure the strategy provides the most effective long term framework for the screen industry. In particular, feedback is sought on the:

*proposed vision for the industry
*proposed outcomes and performance indicators
*top five initiatives that industry considers the most important for the Victorian Government to implement in order to maximise the economic and cultural benefits that the screen industry delivers to Victoria.
