August: Osage County's Juliette Lewis will play the female lead opposite Ryan Phillippe in the US remake of Hoodlum Entertainment’s crime series Secrets & Lies.
Phillippe will play Ben, a house painter and family man who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy after he finds the body.
Lewis is cast as Detective Andrea Cornell who leads the investigation into the boy’s murder. Natalie Martinez will play the victim's mother.
The actress played one of Meryl Streep’s dysfunctional daughters in August: Osage County. Her credits include Due Date, Conviction, The Switch and Whip It.
Charles McDougall is directing the pilot for the ABC network produced by ABC Studios, Hoodlum and Kapital Entertainment; shooting starts in Wilmington, North Carolina, on February 27.
In the Australian series which will air on Network Ten, Martin Henderson plays the lead, Diana Glen is his wife and Anthony Hayes is the lead detective.
