Film Victoria seeking Expressions of Interest for 2015 PostScript & Direct

PRESS RELEASE

Film Victoria is sponsoring up to 10 Victorian writers for this year’s 37ºSouth: PostScript & Direct through a special collaboration between Film Victoria and the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).

Part of MIFF’s 37ºSouth Market, PostScript & Direct enables emerging Victorian screenwriters to pitch their feature film projects to producers from Australia and New Zealand.

“Film Victoria is looking for applicants with polished feature film scripts that will wow the market and also excite an audience,” Film Victoria CEO Jenni Tosi said.

In 2014, Film Victoria sponsored seven writers to attend the festival which resulted in three having their screenplays optioned for further development.

“The PostScript & Direct event is an excellent opportunity for writers to pitch their projects in a professional environment and also establish new relationships with some of Australia’s best producers. It’s a fabulous event for any screenwriter with a well-developed project who is looking for production partners.”

The event will run in a ‘speed dating’ style, with selected participants moving around the room from one 15-minute pitch session to the next. Following individual meetings, a networking event will be held for writers to meet with producers in a more informal setting.

Now in its eighth year, PostScript & Direct will take place on Sunday 2 August at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne.

The deadline for applications is Monday 1 June. Eligibility criteria and application forms are available at www.film.vic.gov.au/funding/37-south-opportunity
