Film Victoria supports six new films

Film Victoria is supporting six new projects through its Production Investment Attraction Fund – Post, Digital and Visual Effects, and the Regional Location Assistance Fund.

The visual effects work for three major international films – Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Summit Entertainment’s The Last Witch Hunter – will be undertaken by Melbourne’s Luma Pictures.

Luma Pictures has worked on projects such as Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Funding will also see post-production take place in Melbourne for the feature Jungle from Arclight Films International and Dana Lustig Productions. The film, directed by Greg Mclean (Wolf Creek), tells the story of four travellers as they set off into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. What begins as a dream adventure quickly deteriorates into a nightmare.

Regional towns will also be boosted by film activity. In Beechworth, filming commenced in February for the feature Scare Campaign, directed by Victorian brothers Colin and Cameron Cairnes. Filming is due to start on The Legend of Ben Hall in the Golden Plains, Hepburn, Moorabool and Macedon Ranges shires in late March.
