Flickerfest 2013 continues

Press Release

The 22nd Annual International Short Film Festival, Flickerfest, opened last Friday night with a bang at Bondi Pavilion and continues to Sunday 20 January with a stellar line up of films.

This year has seen the largest number of short film entries on record from over 21 countries. Many of these short films have either their world and/or Australian premieres at Flickerfest.

Flickerfest remains Australia’s only Academy® Accredited and BAFTA recognized short film festival. For the first time, the Best Australian Film Award joins  FLICKERFEST’s existing Academy® Accredited Awards for Best Film and Best Animation in the international section.

Being screened for the first time will be Australian film The Captain, co-written and directed by the immensely talented Nash Edgerton and the heartfelt tale Wishart, which sees award winning Sound Recordist Sam Petty making his directorial debut with a story starring Damon Herriman, Megan Drury and Rowan Woods.

After wrapping up at Bondi, the very best flicks from FLICKERFEST will then hit the road on the festivals annual national tour between January and May 2013, visiting 47 venues, across all states and regional hotspots, hungry for great films Australia-wide.
