On May 7th, 2009, media and industry guests will gather to celebrate the launch of the exciting new television programme Flickerfest on Extra premiering at 10:30pm, Friday 15th May on Movie Extra
Ravesi’s on Bondi Beach will host the cocktail style affair where guests will join Flickerfest on Extra’s host; actor, director and short film enthusiast Damian Walshe-Howling, in celebrating this new Australian series. Dedicated to the world of short filmmaking, the 7 half-hour series celebrates short films and those people on screen, and behind-the-scenes, who turn creative vision into reality.
Flickerfest on Extra will interview some of Australia’s most celebrated actors, writers and directors, including Fred Schepisi, Greg McLean, Jan Chapman, Rachel Griffiths, Ben Mendelsohn, Nash and Joel Edgerton, who have all cut their teeth on the short film form. It will feature a selection of both new and classic, award-winning short films, many Australian TV premieres, all highlights from Australia’s Academy Award® accredited film festival; Flickerfest.
With nearly 20,000 quality short films submitted to Flickerfest over the last 18 years, Flickerfest on Extra is guaranteed to present a wide variety of award winning short films from Australia’s hottest short film talent, with something to satisfy everyone’s taste!
If you couldn’t make it to one of the Flickerfest dates or venues this year, Flickerfest On Extra will bring Flickerfest to you in your loungeroom. Enjoy some of the best short films submitted over the years, as well as a comprehensive insight into the industry and the world behind short films.
