Free Film Festival Masterclass

The Academy of Information Technology will hold a free Film Festival Masterclass on on on October 13 for budding filmmakers.

The masterclass program will include how to plan your marketing strategy, an overview of marketing short films to Australian and international film festivals, the best platform for submissions, selecting festivals, marketing materials required, AACTA and screen guild award submissions.

Greg is a lecturer at UNSW School of Arts and Media, co-founder FilmFest and is festival director for the Russian Resurrection Film Festival and Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival.

The session will be led by Dr Greg Dolgolopov and Tamara Popper.

Popper is the Industry/Internship Liaison Officer at AIT. She is an independent film producer and former festival director of World Of Women’s Cinema: WOW Film Festival.

Tamara has been a jury member for a number of local and international film festivals and pre-selector and juror for AACTA in the following categories: pre-selector feature film 2013, juror short film and animation 2104 and juror Television Documentaries and Documentary Craft Awards 2015.

Her current short film’12 Steps’ will screen at Adelaide Film Festival October 2015, BOFA Film Festival Launceston November 2015.

Earlier in 2015 the film won Best Short Comedy Award at Houston International Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award at Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival and screened at Manhattan Film Festival.  ’12 Steps’ is a finalist in AACTA’s Social Shorts comedy category.

The event will be held at the Academy of Information Technology at 7pm on October 13.
