Free TV mourns Wayne Goss

Free TV Australia is deeply saddened by the passing of Wayne Goss, former Premier of Queensland and a distinguished Australian who made a valuable and lasting contribution to Australian public life and especially to his community in Queensland.

Mr. Goss was the inaugural independent Chairman of Free TV Australia from 2008-2011. He was incredibly generous with his time and commitment and helped guide the industry as it transitioned from analogue to digital television.

Free TV CEO, Julie Flynn said “Wayne was a great supporter of the commercial free-to-air television industry in Australia.”

“He was always concerned about the ‘public interest’ in any issue as he demonstrated throughout his career.”

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with his wife Roisin and children, Ryan and Caitlin” Ms Flynn said.
