Freeview backs Logies comp

Press release from Freeview

Freeview, Australia’s free digital television service, is delighted to announce the launch of an exciting competition for viewers in the lead-up to the 2010 TV WEEK Logie Awards.

The competition* begins on Monday, March 29th and will run for five weeks as part of Freeview’s partnership with this year’s TV WEEK Logie Awards.
Each week during the competition, two lucky entrants will win a 120GBPS3TM + PlayTVTM prize pack – valued at $699 each – with a total of 10 prizes to be won.

Not only are they fantastic prizes, the competition is easy and fun to enter. Players just need to go to www.freeview.com.au/logies where they watch an online video, answer three simple questions about it, then enter their contact details for a chance to win.

Freeview CEO Robin Parkes said: “We’re really pleased to be able to offer viewers the chance to win such great prizes in the build-up to the TV WEEK Logie Awards, and our competition is an excellent way for viewers to get more involved with all the Logies excitement,” Parkes said.

“What makes these prize packs so special is that with PlayTV you can now watch, pause, and record Freeview digital HD television on your PlayStation3, in addition to playing all your favourite video games,” she added.

Each week the winners will be telephoned with the good news that they’ve won, and will be listed on the Freeview website.

Freeview will be supporting the competition with press ads in TV WEEK, and online with banner ads at www.tvweek.com.au

Last month Freeview announced its partnership with the TV WEEK Logie Awards for 2010, which will help boost consumer awareness and understanding of the great benefits of free digital TV, and encourage further conversion to digital among Australian viewers.
