Gold Coast Film Festival focuses on Industry with REELLIFE

GOLD COAST Monday 24 March 2014: The Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) is excited to present the inaugural REELLIFE program featuring seminars, panels and workshops for industry professionals as well as the emerging sector over the course of two weekends on April 5 – 6 plus April 12 – 13 at The Style Lounge, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach.

The REELLIFE program provides a forum for emerging and existing filmmakers to hear from some of the Industry’s most experienced and successful practitioners and representatives.

“The GCFF is committed to encouraging, promoting and assisting Australian film making talent. The REELLIFE program is designed to educate and inspire filmmakers with an impressive lineup of domestic and international film industry leaders,” said GCFF Director, Kylie Pascoe.

“The Gold Coast boasts some of the best film crews and talent in the world and we want to see our region hold onto our great filmmaking reputation, both now and into the future.”

Through the REELLIFE workshops, seminars and networking events, the GCFF presents various one hour seminars on topics such as film distribution, funding, building online content and more. MEET THE PRODUCER

Join special guest Ian Collie (Saving Mr Banks and ABC TV’s Rake) as he discusses the ever-changing role of the producer in the shifting climate of Australian film and television.

MEET THE DIRECTOR
Time: 11.15am

Director Brad Peyton (San Andreas, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) will discuss his career and share some industry survival techniques!

SUNDAY 6 APRIL 2014

FILM DISTRIBUTION

With special guests Richard Becker (Becker Film Group) and Alan Finney OAM (Chair of the AFI/AACTA), the distributors will talk about the evolving world of film distribution, and what value of traditional models still hold.

FUNDING: CO-PROS AND THE PRODUCER OFFSET

Pozible co-founder Alan Crabbe and director Aaron Wilson (Canopy) will discuss the limitless possibilities of crowdfunding before the Australian premiere of Aaron’s film Canopy.
