Brisbane based Executive Producer Larry Zetlin has been invited to address the audience after the screening of Gulliver Media’s hour-long documentary Of Dogs & Gods in China.
Larry Zetlin has been invited to Guangzhou, as a guest of the Guangzhou International Documentary Conference (GZ Doc 2007) where Gulliver Media has two documentaries in official competition. The second doco is Merchants of Destiny. Both docos were written, produced and co-directed by Gulliver’s Chris Carroll.
‘GZ Doc is the most important marketplace in China for documentaries and is attended by thousands of producers and broadcast executives from all over China. International buyers and sellers also attend,’ Zetlin said
‘Both docos are Australia – China co productions and for that reason there is a great deal of interest in these films in China. These are the only co-pros entered from Australia.’
The two docos were co produced with China Anhui Television, a government run provincial broadcaster based in Hefei, Anhui Province, up-river from Shanghai.
Of the 158 docos in final competition there are only two Chinese co productions and both are from Gulliver Media.
There are 21 docos from Australia and 35 docos from China screening in the Festival.
