Halloween deadline looms for Redd Inc project

Press release from Avviso PR

Hundreds of creative people from all over the world are participating in the new Australian horror production Redd Inc by submitting acting clips, images and music content over the Internet.

With only two weeks to go until the Halloween deadline on 31 October, this is the very last chance for artists, musicians, actors or aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work for the chance to be part of a groundbreaking film project.

The website, www.reddincthemovie.com has been open for submissions since August 2010 and has seen traffic from creative people in Australia to United States and the UK to India and Norway. There has already been over 500 quality submissions from talented people all over the world excited to get involved in the innovative project.

Submissions include both scripted and improvised acting performances, an abundance of art which has been painted, drawn, sculpted, photographed and photo-shopped as well as spine chilling music ranging from jazz to rock, techno to death metal and much more.

Developed by award-winning independent producer Jonathon Green (Angst, Darling) in collaboration with scriptwriter Anthony O'Connor (Angst) and the highly respected Australian director, Daniel Krige (West), the film is scheduled to shoot in March 2011.

“We are thrilled with the interest our project has generated so far and we’re inspired by all the strange and wonderful submissions that have come in. It’s really rewarding for us to see all the different ways people have interpreted the various briefs and how they have applied their talents. I’m excited to see what further works people come up with in these final weeks. The clock’s ticking!” said Jonathon Green the film’s Producer.

The project has captured the imagination of horror movie legend Tom Savini, Internet “vlogging” phenomenon Scotty Iseri amongst others and has been a great online success, notching up over a 10,000 video views in the last month.

“We've had acting clips recorded on webcams in Brooklyn, iphones in Norway and Flip cameras in Ireland. We've received music created by Greek, Thai and British composers – in fact more than 50% of our content has been submitted from outside Australia. It’s amazing to see the dedication of horror fans all over the world. You know you’re on to a good thing when people in places like Singapore, Canada and even Vatican City want to be part of this Australian world first” said Peter Giles, Head of Digital Media at the Australian Film TV and Radio School who produced the online presence.

After submissions close on Halloween – 31 October, the public will still have the chance to log on to the website and rate their favourite clips and the most popular will make it into the film.

This is the last chance for people with a creative urge and the unfulfilled wish of getting themselves into a movie to get involved. There are only two weeks to Halloween when entries are due to close.

Redd Inc the movie is currently in pre-production, directed by Daniel Krige (West) and co-written by Jonathon Green and Anthony O’Connor (Angst)
