House of Cards returns to Foxtel

Foxtel announced today the multi-award winning series starring Oscar winner Kevin Spacey will return express from the US this month.

The second season of House of Cards will be available for showcase subscribers to binge-watch all 13 episodes via On Demand^, Foxtel Go~ and Foxtel Play** from 12pm on Saturday, February 15 until midnight March 15, 2014.

Foxtel’s drama channel SoHo will also simulcast episode one on Saturday, February 15 at 8.30pm to give non-showcase subscribers a taste of this ground-beaking and critically acclaimed series.

In season two, Francis (Kevin Spacey) and Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara), an up-and-coming reporter and Francis' former paramour, is inching closer to the truth about his crimes. President Walker's (Michel Gill) billionaire confidant Raymond Tusk (Gerald McRaney) demands that Francis reciprocate political favours or face retribution. And Claire must confront the increasing glare of the spotlight as it eats away at her and Francis' once private existence. The Underwood’s must overcome these dangers – past and present – to avoid losing everything, regardless of the collateral damage they leave in their wake.

With select episodes directed by Jodie Foster, James Foley (Glengarry Glen Ross), Carl Franklin (Homeland), John David Coles (Justified), and The Following's Jayne Atkinson and Treme's Derek Cecil joining the cast, House Of Cards season two is described as “a bag full of tricks” by the Hollywood Reporter.

Season One recieved 3 Emmy Awards for casting, directing and cinematography, and Robin Wright won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama.
House of Cards is based on the BBC miniseries of the same name, and the second season is executive produced by David Fincher, Beau Willimon,

Joshua Donen, Eric Roth, Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Andrew Davies, Michael Dobbs and David Manson. The series is produced by Media Rights Capital for Netflix.
