Iloura and Boffswana open in Sydney

Press release from Iloura

Today Sunita Gloster, CEO, Omnilab Media’s Creative Services Division, announced a restructure of the company’s advertising services under the Iloura brand and will open a purpose-built studio in East Sydney. Iloura Advertising will cater for the growing market demand for creative and technology based production solutions. It will provide visual effects, animation, design, and colour grading. Also housed in the studio will be creative technology company Boffswana.

This collective of artists and creative technologists will be a unique offering for advertising, broadcast and media clients.

Sunita Gloster says, “Our clients are increasingly demanding innovative and creative technology solutions. We are currently providing these through our Iloura and Digital Pictures’ talent pool. Combining our Digital Pictures’ specialists into Iloura and alongside Boffswana, is the obvious next step in our growth strategy.”

In Sydney the Iloura team will be led by Alastair Stephen, Executive Producer of Commercials who currently holds this position at Digital Pictures. The first new recruit to the Sydney team is former Animal Logic Lead 3D Artist, Jonathan Dearing who has been appointed as Head of 3D.

Dearing specialises in pre-vis, on-set supervision, animation and visual effects and has worked with leading local and international agencies and production companies for over 10 years. Digital Pictures’ Finnegan Spencer will also join the team as Design Director. Further additions to the Sydney studio will be announced in the coming weeks.

Boffswana continues to be steered nationally by Robert Stock as Executive Producer and Stephen Van Elst, Design Director.

Leading Iloura’s advertising team in Melbourne is new recruit, Hamish Macdonald as Executive Producer, Advertising. Macdonald was Executive Producer at XYZ Studios and previously Producer at Exit Films and brings a wealth of experience on both sides of the agency/production company relationship.

Sigi Eimutis, continues as Head of Commercials in Melbourne. Simon Rosenthal now focuses on leading Iloura’s film visual effects and animation
business.

Gloster adds, “The convergence of media is providing a dynamic landscape for design and technology-led ideas. It is exciting to see the ideas this team is creating and producing in this space, like Boffswana’s immersive brand experience for Mediacom’s "Alienware: Area 52", their augmented reality work for Saatchi & Saatchi New York’s "Cheerios" brand through to the outstanding design, animation and visual effects in Iloura's Honda “What If” series TVC campaign, and the Digital Pictures’ ABC 1 and 2 network rebrands which they created and produced.”

The Iloura Sydney studio will be located at Omnilab Media head office in East Sydney and is due to open later this year.
