Press release from Edelman Public Relations

The Australia Day Council of NSW (ADCNSW) has announced the 10 finalists from the inaugural Reel Australia short film competition supported by the Australian Film Institute (AFI) which asked Australian film enthusiasts to articulate who we are as a nation in a two minute film.

The Reel Australia finalists are housed on www.AUSSIEVAULT.com.au.

The winning film, judged by expert panel Gyton Grantley, Ray Lawrence and Deborah Mailman, will be announced on 23 January 2011.

The winner will receive $5,000 in cash as well as the opportunity to attend the 2011 Samsung Mobile AFI Awards with three friends and will have their winning film showcased at Australia Day events across the country.

Australians can also have their say in the Reel Australia competition, by voting for their favourite in the People’s Choice Award.

Voters can head to AUSSIEVAULT.com.au until 16 January 2011 to vote.

One lucky People’s Choice Winner will also walk away with the opportunity to attend the 2011 Samsung Mobile 2011 AFI Awards with a friend, along with $1000 in cash.
