Morgan Griffin is one of Australia’s most talented up and coming actresses with roles in Nim’s Island, Charlie & Boots and Accidents Happen. She was named one of the 55 faces of the future in Nylon Magazine’s Young Hollywood Issue. The two will team up to announce the nominees for the 2010 Inside Film Awards at Sydney’s Pavillion restaurant on Tuesday October 12. The Inside Film Awards is Australia’s only public choice awards for Australian film.

Finalists

At the event, hosted by actor, writer and director Rhys Muldoon of Oscar nominated film The Saviour, Thompson and Griffin will announce nominees in seventeen categories both in the ten people’s choice categories as well as craft categories, Independent Spirit and Rising Talent. The winners will be announced at the Inside Film Awards ceremony on Sunday November 14 at City Recital Hall Angel Place.

New TV Awards

In addition, this year for the first time, Thompson and Griffin will announce the finalists for the new IF Out of The Box Award, which recognises television actors likely to make the leap to the big screen as both Morgan Griffin and Rhys Muldoon have done.

The finalists for this award were selected by a panel including an industry panel including Emmy Award nominated casting director Christine King, TV executive producer Kim Vecera and TV producer Steve Knapman, agent Mark Morrissey and actor Matt Day. Voting for this award will open to the public the following day, October 13, at www.ifawards.com.au. They will also announce the 10 nominees for the Outstanding Contribution to TV Award.

Tickets for the 2010 IF Awards went on sale in late September online at www.cityrecitalhall.com or register your interest by emailing ticketing@if.com.au.
