James Warburton appointed CEO of Ten

James Warburton has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive at Network Ten.

The move follows the termination of former CEO Grant Blackley's contract last week.

“James is a high calibre media executive with an enviable track record in television and digital media sales," said Chairman Brian Long in a statement. "He has forged an exemplary reputation in the media sector in Australia and has strong relationships within the media and advertising community.”

Acting CEO Lachlan Murdoch said he was delighted to welcome Warburton to the Ten family.

Warburton is currently chief digital and sales officer at Seven and is expected to join Ten in July.

The news came shortly after a one sentence statement was released by Ten announcing the resignation of James Packer.
