Kane and Disabled Trailer
Statement from the ABC:
As part of the ABC’s comprehensive coverage of the 2012 London Paralympic Games, we commissioned a series aiming to introduce some of the country's star paralympians in the lead up to London.
We had hoped this 10 part series would highlight and celebrate paralympians, providing an insight into what it means to be an elite athlete with a disability.
Unfortunately, none of our aims were achieved.
Too many mistakes were made to list in this statement but we feel it's imperative to make clear that the choice of Mr. Ernie Kane as host of the series was not our decision and one, with the benefit of hindsight, we regret.
Suffice to say, he will never be employed by the ABC in any capacity ever again.
The ABC has unreservedly apologised to The Australian Paralympic Committee and to all the athletes involved in the series.
Due to legal action being taken by The Official Paralympic Mascot, Lizzie The Lizard against Mr.Kane, we are unable to comment any further at this time.
