Kodak appoints new marketing manager

Effective immediately, David L. Hill has been appointed to the position of National Sales & Marketing Manager, with Kodak’s Entertainment Imaging group, Australia.

Based in Sydney, Hill joined Kodak in 2005 and has held positions within the Consumer Digital Group (CDG). Most recently he was responsible for the On Site Specialty, Grocery and Professional channels across Australia and New Zealand as well as having overall responsibility for CDG in New Zealand.

With over 25 years experience in the photographic industry, Hill looks forward to his new role. “It’s an exciting time to be working in the film industry, he comments. “Despite the introduction of a large number of digital capture devices, film continues to raise the bar for image quality in the motion picture industry. The successful release and enthusiastic uptake of Kodak’s new VISION3 film technology platform stands in testament to this and with film’s capability enhanced by digital post production technologies, it is exciting to see the creative community constantly push the boundaries.”

In the short-term, Hill looks forward to meeting members of the Australian film industry and familiarizing himself with the production landscape as well as the exhibition sector.

“Kodak has shown remarkable strength in its capability to transform itself from what was primarily a traditional business to a company with a clearly defined digital strategy,” Hill comments. “Entertainment Imaging brings the best of both worlds to the marketplace with a hybrid approach that advocates film origination, for the best quality starting image, plus significant input into the post production process through products such as Kodak Digital Ice technology and Kodak companies such as LaserPacific and Cinesite. Beyond this, the Kodak Digital Cinema group continues to make impressive inroads in Australia and, as of February this year, has delivered eighteen of nineteen digital 3D installations, making Kodak the premier digital 3D provider in the country.”

Hill will report to Greg McKibbin, General Manager, Entertainment Imaging, Australia & New Zealand and Regional Business General Manager & Vice President Entertainment Imaging, Eastman Kodak Asia Pacific Region.
