Love Untitled premieres on Portable.tv

Press Release by TM Publicity for Goalpost Pictures Australia

Portable is an on-line platform based in New York. It curates and archives videos from influential practitioners across the industries of fashion, film, music, art and culture.

The film screened earlier this year at the St Kilda Short Film Festival. However, Producer Lauren Edwards (Producer: Bear, Associate Producer: The Sapphires) said: "We are looking to hit a wide audience really quickly with Love Untitled. Maia and I decided that rather the film festival circuit; we should premiere the film online as soon as possible, and Portable is the perfect blog to do so. It's about making the film freely accessible to thousands of people online rather than a few hundred at a film festival."

Written, directed and edited by Maia Horniak, Love Untitled stars Kathryn Beck (East of Everything) and Kipan Rothbury (Young Lions) in an unconventional story about love told through the artful cinematography of DOP Callan Green and a soundscape by composer Basil Hogios and sound designer Lawrence Horne.

“Love Untitled was an experimental and unscripted process to explore deeper notions of love and conflict purely cinematically. It is my third film that explores music driven narrative, and I am keen to take this idea further with my first feature film Mixtape,” Maia said.

The feature film Mixtape, is currently in development and will also be produced by Lauren Edwards as well as Goalpost Pictures Australia’s Rosemary Blight.

Maia was born in Paris to Czechoslovakian parents. She graduated from FAMU in Prague, one of the world’s most prestigious film and art schools, and also attended The Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen. In addition she has a Masters in Film Directing from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).

She has directed over a dozen short films and documentaries, a TV series pilot, a one-hour Tele-movie, and several TV commercials, online digital content, and music videos.

In 2010 Maia was the winner of the OPTUS MTV one80 project with the trailer The Sellers. Last year, The Sellers was completed as a one-hour telemovie drama produced by MTV and Goalpost Pictures Australia.
