Matchbox appoints Tassie-based scripted development exec

Matchbox Pictures has appointed writer Ranald Allan as a Hobart-based scripted development executive.

Allan’s appointment comes as Matchbox plans to identify a group of projects in Tasmania to move through funded development into production over the next few years.

Allan was mostly recently a script editor on Foxtel’s The Kettering Incident.

At Matchbox, Allan will work alongside Debbie Lee and Paddy Macrae to unearth strong Tasmanian writing, in partnership with Screen Tasmania.

“Matchbox is committed to working with the best creative talent across Australia, and we are delighted to be able to add Ranald and a Tasmanian focus to our scripted team,” said Matchbox MD Chris Oliver-Taylor.
