MCM Media and Hoyts launch Australian cinema first

In a major first for Australian cinema marketing, MCM Media and Hoyts have announced a partnership that will produce a branded entertainment program to screen before every movie in Hoyts digital cinemas nationally.

Consumers will also be able to access full interviews and past shows online at Hoyts.com.au.

Titled The Hoyts Insider, the dynamic brand-funded program is filmed in Los Angeles by MCM Media, with new episodes delivered to Hoyts digital cinemas across the country every fortnight.

Hosted by Co-Executive Producer Andrew Günsberg and featuring movie news, celebrity interviews, and behind-the-scenes snapshots, the program will take Hoyts viewers ‘inside’ Hollywood.

MCM Media Chief Executive Officer Simon Joyce said the launch of The Hoyts Insider is testament to the company’s leading edge approach to content and reaching consumers outside the traditional formats.

“MCM Media’s partnership with Hoyts is a coup for both companies. The Hoyts Insider is an exciting new content platform delivered using cinema’s latest digital technologies to a highly engaged cinema audience, as well as allowing movie distributors to get up close and personal with their viewers by taking them into the world of Hollywood movie making,” said Mr Joyce.

“The team at MCM Media is thrilled to have partnered with Hoyts on an industry leading entertainment offering”.

The Hoyts Insider has already secured the first single major sponsor for the first six months of the program.

The Hoyts Insider will launch on all 100 digital screens across Hoyts cinemas nationally from December 2010. The Hoyts Insider will continue to reach more Hoyts customers as the roll out of digital cinemas expands over the coming 12 months.

“The Hoyts Insider provides our customers a great reason to get to cinemas early to catch up on everything Hollywood, including the latest blockbuster/movie information, and enjoy all of the latest ads and new release trailers,” added Hoyts Director – Marketing, Anthony Thiessen.
