Former Melbourne International Jazz Festival (MIJF) program director Melanie Pose is the new general manager of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).
Pose was with MIJF for seven years, curating and producing an annual program of 120 events over 10 days. She was also acting general manager during the 2015 festival.
MIFF chair Claire Dobbin said she was delighted to welcome Pose to her new role.
“Melanie will be an excellent addition to the MIFF team, bringing a deep knowledge of festivals and festival culture and considerable management experience.”
Pose, who started in her new position last week, said: “I am thrilled to be joining MIFF and I am looking forward to working alongside the dedicated and passionate team to continue to grow the festival’s reputation as a major cultural asset.”
MIFF 2018 will take place August 2-19.
