Metro Screen Pitch winner announced

Press release from Metro Screen

Metro Screen’s SPAA Fringe pitching competition held Tuesday night saw 10 unique projects pitched in front of seven industry leaders and a capacity audience.

The judges were so overwhelmed by the talent in the room and the ability for the projects to ‘just sell themselves’ one audience members was overheard to say, that they awarded two highly commended on top of the three prize categories.

“Of the 60 applications Metro Screen received for the competition the 10 projects pitched are all winners.” Kate Taylor Metro Screen Network Events coordinator.

The project now representing Metro Screen at the national pitching competition at SPAA Fringe and one step closer to Cannes is:

Roy Weiland with 'Barton the Ghost Catcher' – Children’s transmedia project

When class weirdo Barton is tormented by ghosts he feels that things could not get worse until he finds out he is the only person who can stop them and save the world.

“I’m really excited to pitch in front of the movers and shakers, to be put in front of them is why I do it, it’s a long quest as a filmmaker, this is really amazing”, commented Roy after he was announced the Metro Screen Pitch winner.
