Mimi Butler heads to Matchbox

Producer Mimi Butler, known for her work on Paper Giants: Magazine Wars and Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War, is set to join Matchbox Pictures.

Butler joins Matchbox from Endemol Shine Australia. She will be based out of Matchbox’s Sydney office and work across development and production in the scripted department.

An AACTA and Logie Award winner, Butler has also produced four series of Rush, crime documentary series Forensic Investigators, teen drama Blue Water High, and children’s drama Snobs. She has also worked as a development producer for Cordell Jigsaw, as well as script executive for the Nine Network.

Butler has also been the recipient of Mimi the Australian Film Commission Young Producer Fellowship (2004) and the Joan Wilson Fellowship for Drama from the International Emmy Foundation (2003).

Matchbox Pictures director of scripted development Debbie Lee said Butler was a fantastic fit for the company.
