Monster Fest to invade the west.

PRESS RELEASE

Monster Pictures, Howling Wolves Wines and Yes Asia are proud to announce the return of the highly anticipated Monster Fest Perth, to be held 27 March – 2 April 2014 at Luna Outdoor Cinema in Leederville.

According to Festival Director, Neil Foley, Monster Fest is Australia’s “nastiest, juiciest and downright evilest film festival.”

“We have had increasing demand from our fans in the west, so it’s awesome to be returning bigger, better and more beautiful than ever before!”

“For seven nights, the weirdos of Perth will reel as we present a gruesome smorgasbord of cult and horror delights.”

“We’re talking World Premieres, Aussies Premieres, Perth Premieres, workshops, zombies, local and international special guests, bands, parties and more. It will be an unabashed celebration of depravity for the truly weird at heart!” said Foley.

The action packed international line-up includes the award winning US feature KISS OF THE DAMNED; the World Premiere of crowd funding sensation THE SEARCH FOR WENG WENG; a prosthetics workshop from X-FILES SFX guru Ryan Nicholson; the sleeper hit of the recent Monster Fest Melbourne CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY VANILLA; and the world’s very first roller derby slasher, MURDERDROME, which is opening the Festival.

In addition, the Festival will feature three Western Australian films making their hometown premieres:

RAVEN'S CABIN (World Premiere, 89 mins, 2014) – Starring Luke Ledger, Andrea Addison and Pia Prendiville, Loren Johnson’s debut feature film is a provoking psychological thriller shot entirely
in Western Australia.

JUGULAR (Perth Premiere, 86 mins, 2013) – Perth novelist JJ DeCeglie makes his directorial
debut with this tense, claustrophobic and genuinely harrowing film.

SORORAL (Perth Premiere, 116 mins, 2013) – Directed by Sam Barrett and starring Liam Graham, Amanda Woodhams and Nicola Bartlett, SORORAL is an ode to Italian Giallo – confronting, powerful and beautiful.
