Moonrise Kingdom trailer

Boasting an all-star cast, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love and and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore – and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle.

Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Pulp Fiction) plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton (Fight Club, American History X) is a camp leader, and Bill Murray (Ghostbusters) and Frances McDormand (Almost Famous) portray the young girl's parents. Other cast includes Harvey Keitel, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward.

The film, set in the 1960s, is co-written and directed by Wes Anderson, who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2001 (The Royal Tenenbaums).

Moonrise Kingdom hits cinemas in the US this May. No official release date has been given for Australia.
