PRESS RELEASE

Network Ten today announced the first sponsors for its exclusive coverage of the KFC T20 Big Bash League.

KFC Australia, Holden, Unilever, Cbus and Thirsty Camel Liquor have signed on as sponsors of what will be one of the major television events of the 2013-14 Summer.

Network Ten National Sales Director, Louise Barrett, said: “From the moment we announced that the KFC T20 Big Bash League was coming to TEN, we have had enormous interest from clients.

“We are delighted to welcome KFC Australia, Holden, Unilever, Cbus and Thirsty Camel Liquor to our coverage and thank them for their support and passion.

“We have signed another major, blue-chip sponsor, who we cannot reveal at this stage, and we are close to finalising other sponsorships. The appetite for Big Bash League has been extremely positive,” she said.

Valerie Kubizniak, Acting Chief Marketing Officer for KFC Australia, said: “KFC Australia has proudly been involved with T20 cricket since 2003 and we’re thrilled and excited to partner with Ten, who for the first time will make Big Bash League available for free-to-air audiences.

“The sponsorship will continue to drive brand awareness and consumer engagement for KFC and the T20 Big Bash League over the summer period.”

Holden Executive Director, Sales & Marketing, Philip Brook, said: “Holden is very excited to have come on board as a primary sponsor of Ten’s coverage of this year’s T20 Big Bash League competition.

“We see it as a great opportunity to align our new and exciting car lines with the newest and most exciting format of the game.

“We are delighted that it has now found a home on free-to-air television as this will only see the game continue to grow as audiences tune in to Ten’s coverage throughout the summer, providing us with a great platform to drive awareness and further engagement with the Holden brand,” he said.

Network Ten will show 35 KFC T20 Big Bash League matches, covering more than 120 hours, across the 2013-14 summer. The season starts on Friday, December 20.

Network Ten Head of Sport, David Barham, said: “The KFC T20 Big Bash League is going to be a major television event of the 2013-14 summer – all live and exclusive to Ten.

“Everyone at Ten is looking forward to bringing this fast, exciting and entertaining competition to all Australians on free-to-air television for the first time. Our commentary team – Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Damien Fleming and Sir Viv Richards – are ready and raring to go.”
