Network Ten Launches tenplay Windows Phone App

PRESS RELEASE

Network Ten has launched its tenplay app for Windows 8 phones, giving users access to its content anytime and anywhere – for free.

The tenplay platform – which is available across web, mobile, tablets and smart TVs – will provide Windows 8 phone users with access to Network Ten’s catch-up video platform and unique live streaming experiences.

Users will have access to TEN, ELEVEN and ONE shows on-demand, straight after they have appeared on television, as well as real-time viewing, with live streaming of news and sporting events.

The app also allows viewers to create personalised playlists, lining up their television picks to watch whenever they want; pin favourite shows and genres to their phone dashboard for easy access; set up alerts and reminders for their favourite shows; and access a complete television guide with full listings.

The tenplay Windows phone app launch is the latest addition to Network Ten’s TV everywhere strategy, which has seen the launch of the tenplay website and app plus product innovations including the TEN Eyewitness News app, tenplay Kids and the Sochi 2014 On Ten app since September 30 last year.

More products and services are currently in development, including eight dedicated digital channels for the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, enabling viewers to watch their favourite events and athletes from anywhere, at any time.

Network Ten Chief Digital Officer, Rebekah Horne, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer Windows phone users the tenplay experience.
“The launch of the app for Windows phones means that tenplay is now available across all of the largest mobile operating systems – Android, iOS and Windows – and on all of Microsoft’s digital platforms, including Xbox One and Xbox 360.

“tenplay extends the traditional television watching experience by offering personalised, cross-platform content delivery, designed with the user experience as the top priority. It’s the perfect catch-up platform, giving people a way to access our content wherever and whenever they choose.”

More than 600,000 tenplay apps have been downloaded since tenplay launched. That number excludes the TEN Eyewitness News, Sochi 2014 On Ten and tenplay Xbox One apps.

The number of video views of Network Ten content has soared by more than two-thirds since tenplay was launched, while the number of page views has jumped over 44%.
