Network Ten purchases Appear TV decoders from Magna Systems and Engineering

NETWORK TEN PURCHASES APPEAR TV DECODERS FROM MAGNA SYSTEMS AND ENGINEERING
For off air monitoring of all their national SD and HD services at their main and DR sites

SYDNEY, 22 September 2016 – Network TEN has purchased two XC5000 4RU Chassis of Appear TV decoders loaded with dual channel decode modules from Magna Systems and Engineering for off air monitoring of all their national SD and HD services at their main Sydney and Melbourne D.R. Master Control sites.

Appear TV’s XC5000 is its latest generation carrier grade platform with 4RU of flexibility, functionality and versatility. There are no restrictions even for the most intensive processing requirement. The units feature uprated dual-redundant and hot swappable power supplies, increased cooling and enhanced redundancy. An advanced user friendly GUI offers an intuitive and comprehensive management of the many features of the system. The exhaustive multi-level alarm system, together with the easiness for integration to third party management systems, enables full automatic control. The possibility of centralised monitoring simplifies deployment and streamlines maintenance.

Network TEN’s Glenn Carrick said, “We chose the XC5000 for their high density as you can fit up to 16 dual channel decoder modules per frame giving a maximum of 32 services per frame. We also required multiple audio decode formats as well as including Dolby for our HD service and these modules are capable of decoding SD HD MPEG2 and H.264 services. The XC5000 also provides, ease of set up, a small footprint, cost effectiveness, low power consumption, module hot swap capability, highly redundant configurability, high level of reliability and IP connectivity. I’m happy to say the decoders and Magna Systems have delivered as promised.”
