Nickelodeon Australia shooting Camp Orange for UK market

Australian kids' reality show Camp Orange is travelling to the “Mother Country”.

Nickelodeon Australia, now in its 16th year, has announced it will produce a format version of its award-winning local production for Nickelodeon UK, with production starting in rural NSW this week. Eight British kids will be sent to Australia for the six-part, 30-minute series.

The original format, multiple ASTRA Award-winning series is designed to give kids the ultimate adventure experience, bringing teams of friends together to compete in outrageously messy challenges in the great outdoors.

The announcement follows wrapping the shoot on its seventh season in Australia – Camp Orange: Wrong Town – which is once again hosted by comedy duo Luke and Wyatt.

“This is an exciting creative step for Nick Australia,” Viacom International Media Networks Australia and NZ senior vice president and managing director Katrina Southon said in a statement.

“It’s become the perfect local production format for us to export globally, including three seasons of an Italian version of the show. With a UK version set to air this summer, we will continue to seek out opportunities to produce even more content for UK and American Nickelodeon audiences.”

Furthermore Nickelodeon UK managing director Tina McCann said the format was perfect for the UK market.
